Chinese cupping therapy

Picture
Bellabaci cups, made from silicone, are squeezed to create suction and negative pressure on the body surface.  Moved in a specific sequence the massage will drain excess fluids and toxins, loosen adhesions, lift the connective tissue and bring blood flow to muscles and skin.

Cupping has benefits to the
  • Circulatory System
  • Muscular and Skeletal Systems
  • Skin
  • Nervous System
  • Digestive System

How does it feel?

People often experience deep warmth and a tingling sensation long after the treatment has ended.  It has a relaxing effect on the nervous system, can remove pain locally, relax stiff muscles, reduce fatigue and increase energy.  People say that they feel "lighter".  You may feel thirsty and will need to drink plenty of water after the treatment.

Will it cause blotches?

The skin in the area worked on can turn red due to stimulation.  In severe cases, where the cupping was done, there may be some skin discolouration as a result of cellular debris and toxins moving to the surface.  Movement to the surface, allows a fresh flow of blood to the deeper tissues.  It's not a bruise and will dissipate anywhere between a few hours and a few days.

What is it good for?

The suction reaches up to four inches into the soft tissues, attachments and organs.  It draws up toxins and inflammation, encouraging their elimination via the lymphatic system.  It gets things on the move, it helps to purify the blood, and it regulates and soothes the autonomic nervous system.  Locally, it relieves pain, relaxes stiff muscles, loosens adhesions, helps to reduce cellulite...& more.
